Six Nations champions are currently ranked fifth

Toby Flood says the Rugby World Cup semi-finals to reach the minimum requirement for England and from there "anything can happen" must be.

In the world the Six Nations champions are currently ranked fifth, behind the All Blacks, South Africa, Australia and Ireland, but they attract a favorable have. England and Scotland including the pool with Argentina and France set up a potential quarter-final showdown will likely top.

Flood said, the Leicester and England fly-half, "Our goal is to reach the semi-final. That is our minimum requirement. I would be very disappointed if we don't get that far.

"Obviously our aim is to win the World Cup. We want to go as far as we possibly can but to win a trophy you have to take it one stage at a time.

"If you can make the semi-finals then anything can happen. You are one game away from the final and you can readjust your goals from there."

England's 2003 Six Nations after their first tournament title this year after more than week of stuttering and finally defeat Ireland in Dublin despite the cost of their Grand Slam win.

Flood admits England shock requires that taught a cruel lesson, especially rugby league instead of developing their games to keep the same gameplan rely too much on.

Flood said, "That is hugely important. We started the tournament fantastically and we were playing in a certain manner but the Dublin weekend taught us the need to evolve as a squad, that we need to make better judgments.

"We need to be preparing specifically for that one game rather than preparing in general."

Tom Wood admits England Six Nations Grand Slam dream

Tom Wood admits that he still very hammering by England and the rest taken after the Irish in Dublin used obsession.

England Six Nations Grand Slam dream on a large scale have been wiped away from Ireland, but on Sunday a modicum of revenge he will be able to achieve.

A little
brain, as only two players that Ulster hooker Rory three weeks ago
Rory Best and powerful winger Andrew Trimble and England in the wood will contain penalty.

Wood said, “I learned how passionate the Irish are in Dublin”.

“We will have to be better than we were on Saturday. Our attacking flair was pretty good but our defensive organisation was a bit shoddy at times.

“There is plenty to work on there and perhaps our decision-making at the breakdown cost us some penalties. When you are up against a good kicker you can’t afford that. We will have to be on our guard a little bit more in defence but we will take out a lot of positives from the win.”

Compensation in the minds of wood is not the disappointment in Dublin. This wood with Worcester European Challenge Cup first Heineken Cup campaign after work, whereas they reached the semi finals with the Warriors.

“There will be some crossover I would imagine but we take each game on its individual merits. It is a one off knockout competition - we will be full on.

“This is definitely one of the reasons why I joined Northampton, but I also just like the way things are done here.

“I really learn from the players around me, from Dorian (West), Jim (Mallinder) and Grays (Paul Grayson). When I decided to come here it was a challenge really to see if I could get into this sort of attacking side with so many stars and such strength in depth.”

Wood with inexperienced England international arena when he strode in full from any of the show.

Playing in front of 80,000 fans and 72,000 experience the good of this world will be.

If he had not the chance on this with awe and trepidation any game this Sunday will be looking for. His life is the biggest club game, but the tests themselves in the field showing no signs of nerves, I proved I can handle.

Wood said, “I have had some pretty big relegation deciders down at Worcester and some big pressure games down there, but in terms of the magnitude of this game on Sunday, the following and the expectation, it is right up there. It is another massive game for us. We have some good momentum now, but it is a huge challenge in a bit of a foreign environment.

“It is just another exciting game to look forward to. They are all good experiences and Saints fans will follow us everywhere, we have got a real good following and it spurs the boys on.

“Hopefully we can put in a performance like we did on Saturday and score a few tries for them.”

Of those efforts has come from a timber, first for the club. This is something that was heavy on the shoulder is not heavy weight, but with all of them to get some of this light was good. Although he mentioned no out of an ash Splish rival plans to bring.

Wood said, “I fell over the line. I don’t score enough to celebrate and if I tried to do what Ashton does I probably would have thrown the ball over my head or something. I was just blowing and working hard and I just managed to get round the corner and into a bit of space. I think I had Ashton outside me and he may be he drew a bit of attention and I just slid in.

“It will be a 30-yarder by the time I tell my mates, but it was probably just two yards.

“It is not really a landmark for me, I am not really a try-scorer. I would like to get more than I do and it is always nice to get one, but as long as the team wins then I am happy to see the other lads running them in as long as I have done my bit.”

“This weekend if I can come away win it will make life a little bit easier for me when I go back to Wales.

“I've only played at the Millennium once. I think it's probably my favourite away stadium to play in.

“It seems the whole of Wales turns up in Cardiff on the day of an international.

“There is a great buzz around the city, certainly in the stadium it's an atmosphere like no other. It's one I have fond memories of.

“For us we still have the Triple Crown to play for which is massive for us going into the World Cup, and for Wales, likewise, they have still got an awful lot to play for.”

Declan Kidney is difficult an improvement alongside a French side that played very well when thrashing Scotland last Saturday and he’s hoping that home benefit will make it two wins on the turn for the boys in green.

The Ireland coach has insisted that his team will play a flowing style of rugby in an effort to outscore their opponents rather than play the ball during the onward line.

I think it’s the only way to play the game now; you have to have the bravery to go after it because previous to you could just play a pressure game, but the laws |have changed now and you need to go after it , get it, keep it and play it in the right areas,” Kidney said.

Best - Ireland can win Six Nations

Rory Best says that Ireland is very strong contender to win Six Nations.

After England and France 2009 Grand Slam champions are rated third favourites to reclaim the title they won two years ago.

Since Italy joined the competition in 2000, Ireland narrowly trail Les Bleus in an overall Six Nations table, having finished outside the top three just once in that time.

We're taking part in this competition to win it, that's first and foremost in our mind," said Ulster hooker Best. "That's where we've got ourselves as a squad over the last few years."

He added: "We're all ambitious. Every competition we enter as a province or country we want to win. Every year the Six Nations looks like being close, but especially this year.

"Every team had mixed results and performances in the autumn internationals and European Cup, which is sometimes another barometer of how things are going. Anything can happen on any day in the Six Nations and that's what makes it so tight. That's why there are upsets every year."

"I don't think the number of injuries is a worry," Best said. "Look at the strength of the squad with the injuries, it says a lot for the way we've evolved over the last six years.

"It's probably not a bad thing to test the depth of the squad. We owe a lot to the way the provinces have developed over the last few years.

"Munster we all know have been there for the last 10 years. Leinster have really come on over the last four or five years and now hopefully Ulster will start to push on. It's important for Irish rugby that all four provinces are going well. Everyone's buoyant in the camp because they're happy at home."
